Project overview

As one of Wodonga's key growth areas, the Leneva Valley is expected to accommodate significant future residential and community development. To ensure the water network can meet future demand, North East Water is constructing a new trunk water main along sections of Frederic Road, Martins Road and surrounding areas.

Future works will include construction and connection to a clear water storage tank. Works will also be undertaken at the future tank site, including the construction of access tracks, earthworks, drainage, fencing and retaining structures required to support the future tank.

These works form part of our long-term planning for the Wodonga region and have been identified through a strategic assessment of the water supply network to ensure it can continue to meet the needs of the community as the area grows over the coming decades.

What to expect during construction

Traffic management will be in place for safety reasons. Construction will be tailored to minimise disruption to traffic flows. Frederic Road between Edney Ln and Baranduda Blvd will be closed for short periods of time.

Nearby residents may also notice:

  • Heavy vehicles moving to and from the construction site and on local roads
  • Noise from construction activities during certain periods
  • Dust may be produced during excavation works
  • Some detours and road closures will be in place along Frederick and Martins Roads for short periods of time, accessible by local traffic only
There will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.
