The project team will commence on-site mid to late April and will run until early July, subject to any delays.

The project involves upgrading a sewer main along the Kiewa Valley Highway, starting from the sewer pump station located south of Ryders Lane in Tawonga and extending for 3.4km to Marums Lane in Tawonga South.

The purpose of the new sewer main to transfer wastewater from the pump station at Tawonga to Tawonga South.

This upgrade replaces the aging sewer main and eliminates the need for it to run through private properties.

This work will see the Keiwa Valley Highway reduced to one lane of traffic or a reduced speed limit at times. A traffic management plan will be in place to ensure traffic delays are kept to a minimum.

Construction will be carried out Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5:00pm. On occasion we may need to work outside these hours for safety or technical reasons.

There will be safe and continuous access to the bike path throughout the project.

Sewer services are not expected to be disrupted during any stage of the project.

Access to properties may be temporarily affected during stages of the installation phase. This will involve trenching and horizontal boring techniques to minimize impact. The project team will notify and work with individual properties prior to any short-term access issues. The traffic management plan will ensure access to and from properties during the installation period.

The project will utilise boring methods to avoid digging across driveways, minimising disruption to drive crossings and paths.

Properties in the construction area will not be able to connect to the new sewer main as the function of this main is to transfer wastewater from the pump station at Tawonga to Tawonga South and unfortunately not service additional customers.
