Project Overview
Wodonga is experiencing unprecedented growth with its population forecast to double by 2060. Several growth areas are planned south east of the city in Bandiana and North East Water's existing infrastructure is currently at capacity.
We've identified that construction of a new sewage pumping station, gravity sewer and rising main will enable the first stages of development to proceed in South Bandiana and also alleviate existing capacity restrictions.
To ensure public safety during these works, the High Country Rail Trail will be closed between Kiewa Valley Highway and Whytes Road from December 2025 to late 2026.
A diversion route will be in place via the shared path alongside Anzac Parade and Whytes Road for the duration of the closure.

Project Status
Site works have officially commenced at the new South Bandiana Sewer Pump Station, located off Whyte’s Road.
Early activities — including establishing site access, confirming safety controls, and coordinating key deliveries — are now complete. These initial works lay the foundation for the next stages of construction, which will deliver a new sewage pumping station, gravity sewer and rising main. This essential infrastructure will enable the first stages of development in South Bandiana and help alleviate existing capacity constraints in the network.
