Project Overview

North East Water will be undertaking upgrade works at the Porepunkah sewer pump station located in the greenspace just off Nicholson Street.

These works are required to ensure this critical sewer infrastructure continues to support the needs of the community and accommodate future growth.

Some minor impacts to the surrounding greenspace will occur during the works period, and early preparation activities will commence in June 2026.

What to expect during construction

• There may be increased noise and traffic movement around the site. We will aim to minimise impacts to local residents and businesses.
• You may notice some odour, as we are working with sewage. This is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to minimise any impacts to nearby residents.
• Access to driveways and private property will be maintained.
• We will reinstate the area upon completion of works, ensuring it is left in good condition.
• There will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.
